How to use your Perma Salt System

Start Up For The Perma Salt System

    Perma Salt System
  1. Install on the return side of the filter in any direction. With no flow switch, the system utilizes unique Water Flow Vibration technology.
  2. Turn system control knob to 3 to start, be sure green” Active” light is on when the pump is running.
  3. During the initial fill, add SALT (40 lbs.) one time only.
  4. Use test strips provided to balance PH, Alkalinity, and Copper.

Water Testing for Perma Salt System Start Up

  1. Alkalinity between 80-150ppm.
  2. pH between 7.2-7.8ppm.
  3. Test natural mineral level (copper) between .3-.5ppm. (It may take 1-3 days for initial level to get within the ideal range.)
  4. Iron and other metals should he zero.

Maintenance for the Perma Salt System

  1. Weekly water test to balance all levels, in¢luding natural minerals (copper).
  2. Use the control knob to increase or decrease the amount of copper to within the ideal range of .3-.5ppm.
  3. Note: If the control knob is turned to maximum it may shut down and illuminate the red “chamber” light. Simply turn the control knob down until the red light
    goes off and the green active light is illuminated
    .
  4. The green “Active” light will be illuminated when the pump is on. This will give you the most accurate temperature reading as well as indicate your Perma Salt System is functioning properly.
  5. Shock every other week with one bag of shock (provided by The Pool Factory). Per 10,000 gallons of pool water.
  6. Do not test for or maintain chlorine residual.
  7. The Perma Salt System chamber needs to be replaced every season.
  8. Replacement is indicated by the red “Chamber” light illuminating.
