How to open your above ground pool

To open your above ground pool you will need the following pool supplies:

  1. Pool Shock
  2. Pool Algaecide
  3. Chlorine Stabilizer
  4. Alkalinity Increaser and Alkalinity Decreaser
  5. PH Plus and PH Minus
  6. New Sand, D.E., or Cartridge for your filter
  7. Chlorine
  8. Swimming Pool Test Kit

Step 1: Remove the pool cover.
Step 2: Connect filter to the pool.
Step 3: Remove plate from skimmer opening and remove plug from return opening.

Step 5: Clean and vacuum pool.
Step 6: Test Total ALKALINITY – adjust if necessary.
Step 7: Test PH Level – adjust if necessary.
Step 8: Add SHOCK at a rate of 1 gallon per 5,000 gallons of pool water.
Step 9: Add ALGAECIDE at a rate of 12 ounces per 5,000 gallons of pool water.
Step 10: After allowing chlorine level to decrease from SHOCK, (use test kit to make sure chlorine level is in the safe range) add CHLORINE STABILIZER at a rate of 1 LB per 5,000 gallons of pool water
Step 11: Add extra concentrated CHLORINE at a rate of 1 OZ. per 5,000 gallons per day.
